The Brass Band Class and the recorder consort classes are the only classes specifically for recorders or brass, other recorder or brass groups and solo recorder or brass players should enter the Wind Solo or Group classes. All Wind players can enter PN 45. 

ADJUDICATOR: Anne Hodgson  studied with Ann Cherry at TCM and Averill Williams at GSMD. She enjoys performing a wide variety of music, working with a folk band, playing concertos, orchestral work and recitals, playing bass flute with Sussex Flutes quintet and plays with New Harmonie wind quintet, bringing music to people with dementia and in hospice care.  She teaches and coaches at Brighton College, Hurstpierpoint College and Lancing College and is a trustee of the British Flute Society.  Anne is very much looking forward to adjudicating at Suffolk this year.

  • Wind Solo

    For other classes open to solo wind players see PN45.

    You may now enter the Graded and Age classes twice if you wish, which will give you a chance to play more than one of your pieces at the festival.

  • Wind Duets and Groups

    Group: Any number of wind instruments playing in unison may be conducted and/or accompanied and may have percussion. Ensembles: Any combination of three to ten wind instruments, with accompaniment if desired. For other classes open to wind players in groups see classes OC 263-267. Please note that we also have a new Mixed Ensemble Class (CO 02, in the new Concerto and Mixed Ensemble section) for any combination of mixed stringed, woodwind or brass instruments, including piano and percussion.
