SUFFOLK FESTIVAL 2021 Update

Dear Friends and Supporters of the Suffolk Festival,

I hope you are looking forward to a return to normality and the promise of some live music-making in the not-too-distant future.

The committee has been extremely busy, trying to keep abreast of all the changes to rules regarding what may or may not be permitted whilst planning this year’s festival. At present, there is still a degree of uncertainty as to what may be allowed, and, while we are hopeful that we shall be able to hold some live classes, we need to ensure that performers and the audience remain safe.

We are holding another committee meeting at the end of this month, after which we should be able to tell you our plans for the Autumn.

If we hold live classes we shall need more support from volunteers, so if you are able to offer any time at all, either during the festival or throughout the year we would love to hear from you. Our committee is small and friendly and without their support we would be unable to offer any opportunities to our talented performers. We would particularly love to hear from young people who can spare a few hours on competition days to inspire and encourage our younger performers. In return we would be happy to write references or complete DofE forms.

If you would like to discuss volunteering, please get in touch by emailing info@suffolk-festival.org.uk

I look forward to writing another newsletter soon outlining our plans for the 2021 Suffolk Festival.

Best wishes

Angela Chillingworth
