Suffolk Festival of Performing Arts

Suffolk Festival Summer 2021.

Dear Friends and Supporters of the Suffolk Festival, I am delighted to tell you that the programme is now complete and notifications of class timings will be sent out shortly.

We have tried to create opportunities for many of you to perform live, as live performance is what the Suffolk Festival is all about, however, some of our classes will still be assessed through recordings, so please check the categories carefully.

This is an All-England qualifying year, and we don’t want to let our hundreds of dancers down, so we are pushing back the dates of the Dance Competitions to early in 2022, to give you the best chance of competing and qualifying.

New for this year is the Chorister Class and this will be held in the early Spring. Choristers and would-be choristers will have an opportunity to sing some solo repertoire and to take part in a joint Evensong at St Mary-le-Tower in Ipswich. Ed Sheeran is a patron of St Mary-le-Tower Choral Foundation, so who knows where the Chorister Class may lead!

Watch out for the separate Dance and Chorister syllabus, which will be published in September.

If you have any questions, please contact us on info@suffolk-festival.org.uk and one of our friendly committee members will be in touch. I look forward to seeing friends old and new.

Best wishes, Angela Chillingworth
